Here we have the fire and the ice. Öræfajökull Volcano in the south of Vatnajökull is the highest mountain in Iceland. The peak Hvannadalshnjúkur is considered the tallest in Iceland and is 2110 m high. The mountain is a lot bigger and more voluminous than other Icelandic fire brigades. About 5 km wide and 500 meters deep ash is at the top of the mountain and is full of glacial ice.
Significant earthquake activity has been in the volcano in the recent months of 2018.
